Popular Nigerian actress Omowunmi Dada disclosed that after experiencing chronic pain and discomfort for a long time, she had leg surgery.
In an emotional Instagram post on Tuesday, the 35-year-old revealed the information.
She included a video montage that showed different phases of her recuperation, such as hospital stays, crutch walking, X-rays, and visits from family members. Omowunmi wrote about her experience, reflecting on how she kept going to work and public events in spite of the pain she was going through behind closed doors.
She wrote, “There are times when we manage to smile through the pain so convincingly that no one notices the storm we’re facing.”
“I pushed through the discomfort for a long time, acting as though nothing was wrong while I was actually having trouble on the inside while I walked through movie sets and public gatherings.
” She said she tried to live with it for a long time before deciding to have surgery, which she said was a difficult and humble decision.
“It was overwhelming to think of not being able to do basic things like walk freely or use the lavatory without assistance.
But I got through it thanks to God. My healing is progressing beautifully, but I’m still on the journey,” she continued. Additionally, Omowunmi paused to express gratitude to those who supported her throughout her recuperation.
“Thank you for your commitment, my wonderful doctors. My friends who came to visit, checked in, and let me know I wasn’t alone are to be thanked.
Additionally, she wrote, “Your strength gave me strength, my family.”
