The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, has been urged to be freed by President Bola Tinubu.

Under the leadership of Uchenna Madu, the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra, or MASSOB, issued the call. Its National Director of Information, Edeson Samuel, made this announcement in a statement on Tuesday.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, or JAMB, was accused by MASSOB of purposefully and methodically undermining the high average exam scores of students in the South-east region by excluding them from the Nigeria Student Loan program.

There is no operational seaport in the southeast region, and there are no South-east-based senior officials from the Federal Inland Revenue Service, Nigeria Customs Service, or Nigeria National Petroleum Company, according to MASSOB.

At the moment, the South-east zone’s railway transport service and the Enugu International Airport have been shut down by the Nigerian federal government. Keep in mind that this is happening before the May 30 celebration of the 2025 Biafra Anniversary.

After 58 years of our violent and dishonest actions under General Gowon, which are commonly referred to as reintegration, reconciliation, and rehabilitation back to Nigeria, May 30, 2025, is a national day of reflection and self-examination for the people of Biafra. MASSOB announced earlier this month that on May 30, 2025, all public and private motor parks, schools, and markets in the southeast will be closed.
