Under President Bola Tinubu leadership, the Peoples Democratic Party, or PDP, has voiced concern about the worsening insecurity and declining economic situation.

This was stated by the PDP during its 99th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, which took place in Abuja on Tuesday.

The party stated that at its June 30, 2025, meeting, it would take the resolution of its South-East caucus into consideration.

According to the True The Net, the purpose of the meeting, which was repeatedly postponed because of different problems, was to discuss urgent issues within the party.

The PDP leadership voiced grave concerns about the country’s situation under the Tinubu administration during the NEC meeting.

The party’s criticism of the government, which included increased insecurity, economic hardship, and suspected corruption, was emphasised in the communique read by Iliya Damagum, the party’s Acting National Chairman.

Under President Bola Tinubu irredeemably exploitative, insensitive, and anti-people APC administration, NEC expresses grave concern about the sorry and depressing state of affairs in our country.

NEC denounces the Tinubu administration’s widespread policy inconsistencies, widespread corruption, massive treasury looting, budget padding, and diversion of public funds, which have caused infrastructure to regress and investors to lose faith in our system.

“As demonstrated by the desperate attempts to crush and destroy opposition parties through open siege, threats, and intimidation of opposition figures and institutions of democracy in Nigeria, NEC firmly opposes the sinister plot by the Tinubu-led APC to transform Nigeria into a one-party totalitarian state.

A portion of the communique stated, “NEC reiterates our Party’s commitment to democracy, the rule of law, and the primacy of the people’s will as demonstrated by their free and unimpeded democratic participation in multi-party politics and governance.
