In Adamawa State, Abubakar Abdukadir Moyos, an officer in the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), received a promotion.

He did this after returning N850,000 that a pilgrim had misplaced. Idris Bande, the NSCDC Commander in Adamawa State, revealed on Wednesday that Abubakar Abdukadir Moyos exhibited integrity on Friday, May 16, 2025, by returning a bag he discovered.

Maumuna Salihu, a prospective Muslim pilgrim from Taraba State, was at the International Airport in Yola for an airlift in preparation for the 2025 Hajj. The commandant revealed that N850,000, or $500 USD and $300 Saudi Riyals, were in the bag.

The commandant stated at the Yola ceremony honouring Abubakar Moyos that Moyos’ integrity elevates the NSCDC as an organisation and serves as a reminder to all Nigerians of the kind of person they should aspire to be.

He thanked Dr. Ahmed Audi, the NSCDC Commandant General, for his conviction that honesty should be valued and acknowledged.

According to him, Moyos was promoted from Corps Assistant II to Corps Assistant I with immediate effect after the commandant general gave his approval.
