Glo is one of Nigeria’s top three network providers, and they have a long history of strong service. Even though their network is not the finest in some parts of Nigeria, it is still quite useful, especially if you live in a more civilized state such as Abuja, Ibadan, Lagos, Ogun, Benin, or Osun.
Glo users in Nigeria, like those on other networks, are expected to have SIM registration details that match their NIN information. Mismatched names can cause severe problems when receiving critical services. This article will show you how to adjust your Glo SIM name to match your NIN.
Required Documents
The paperwork you must bring to the Glo Service Center to get this problem resolved are listed below.
- NIN Slip with accurate information.
- The Glo SIM number you wish to update.
- A valid government-issued ID (such as a national ID, driver’s license, or voter’s card).
- SIM card pack.
If you are not the one that register the glo Sim and need to align the information on the Sim with your NIN for personal reasons such as bank issues, jamb direct entry or jamb registration issues, or government official office issues, you must go along the person who registered the Sim to the glo service center.
If the person is not in the same state as you, you must explain this to the Glo staff and advise them that you may call the person on video call to check that everything is legitimate and that the person who registered the Sim is aware of the name changes and other details.
How to Update Your Glo SIM Name
- Go to any Globacom authorized service center in your state.
- Inform them that you want to change your SIM information to match your NIN.
- Fill out the relevant form and show your documents.
- They will validate your NIN against the NIMC database.
- If everything is in order, your Glo SIM name will be adjusted accordingly.
VNIN Option
- To generate a virtual NIN, dial *996*3# on your Glo line.
- Present the 16-digit VNIN at the Glo office during registration.
Final Thoughts
Before you travel, make sure all of your information is correct and that your documentation are up to date. If there is a mismatch on your NIN slip, contact NIMC first to avoid any problems later.
