Kim Kardashian has admitted to being traumatised by Yunice Abbas.
He is one of the main defendants in a gang trial for allegedly robbing Kim Kardashian in Paris in 2016 while she was being held at gunpoint and taking jewellery valued at $9 million.
In the years since, he has expressed regret for the trauma he inflicted on the reality star who is now a business mogul.
Despite his lengthy criminal past, Abbas claims that this was the first time he had ever experienced the “trauma” he had inflicted on his victim. The 72-year-old told a jury on Tuesday, “I regret it, not because I got caught, but because there was a trauma.
” Monday afternoon saw the start of new proceedings against the ten individuals accused of the robbery.
Abbas, the first of several defendants scheduled to testify during the trial, had previously admitted to his involvement in the heist in his 2021 book, “I Kidnapped Kim Kardashian,” which described the robbery.
When the subject of the book came up during the testimony, Abbas denied any involvement in the heist and claimed he had nothing to do with the title.
He went on to say that he was only staying downstairs to keep an eye on Kardashian, who was staying in Paris for Fashion Week, and had nothing to do with tying her up.
Because of their ages—some of the accused are in their 70s and 80s—Abbas and nine other people are known in the local media as the “grandpa robbers.” They are accused of a variety of roles in the heist, including complicity and holding Kardashian, 44, at gunpoint.
